The post holder will initially manage the production and technical aspects of three Manufacturing Units focused on
specific products and processes. The units are responsible for the manufacture of expanded polystyrene sheet et
food product trays, rigid plastic sheet et trays, and paper bags. Each manufacturing process has key specifications
required by the business and supplied to a variety of customers. This role is accountable for ensuring these KPI's
are not only met but are also developed along with other business units in the Plastics Division. There is scope for
the right individual to progress to a full operational management role covering all of these units to control all
operational overheads to ensure the units have best practice and are a low cost producer of our products.
Whilst autonomy and accountability is expected on a continuous basis, the post holder will be supported by other
local management and Divisional teams.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSABILITY
- The post holder will be responsible for the manufacturing process including Extrusion, Reclaim, Thermoforming and
paper bag creation et printing.
- To achieve objectives and key growth opportunities, the post holder will be required to develop and co-ordinate the
capability, competence and skills of their teams to World Class standards.
- The post holder is expected to act on their own initiative, and will involve change management, development and
implementation of cost saving initiatives across the processes in line with a lowest cost manufacturer philosophy and
Health, Safety, Hygiene and Environmental requirements.
A good general education is required and relevant manufacturing experience is preferred. The post holder is expected
to have, or progress towards the following:
- Engineering Degree
- Diploma in Manufacturing
- World class foundation course.
- Excellent person management skills.
- Technical process skills and understanding.
- Management training.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Disciplinary skills.
- Continuous improvement techniques. TQM, SPC, SMED.
