IT Applications Development Manager
SCOPE
The Application Development Manager’s role is to plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to the
design, development, and implementation of applications to support the global portfolio accounting and transaction
processing departments based in Geneva. The Application Development Manager is also responsible for maintaining,
supporting, and upgrading existing systems and applications. This individual will apply proven communication skills,
problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to guide his/her development team on issues related to the
design, development, and deployment of mission-critical information and software systems. The team is currently
composed of 6 developers.
OBJECTIVES
• Manage development and support of existing applications, successfully resolve issues et conflicts and deliver
plans/projects/services as agreed
• Manage and develop the existing team to contribute successfully to the efforts of the organization
• Lead development projects
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
• 3+ years' first-line manager experience with five years' programming or application integration experience
• Willingness to maintain and support legacy programs and reports, familiarity with software "best practices".
• Strong leadership competencies including people development, innovation et risk taking et strategic planning.
• Experience with reporting applications and reporting tools like Cognos Impromptu / ReportNet
• Major relational database experience required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
• Fluent in English and French
• Ability to solve complex problems, to handle multiple projects, to work in a team environment and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work with client's applications/requirements and make sure the technical side is completed correctly.
• Experience with .NET technology
• Proven project management, time management and organizational skills.
Nice to Have
• Practical experience with reporting applications for the portfolio accounting users in an investment/banking firm
• Demonstrated experience with package implementations
• Management of external resources
