As the primary IT support person in our software engineering/support office, you will provide support for all local IT
issues. Your main area of responsibility will be to support the local Windows and Unix infrastructure (including
support for Solaris, HP and Linux servers and workstations) and regular operational activities such as System
Monitoring et Data Backups. The role also requires a broad range of technologies which include Clustering, Sun GRID
computing, Version Control Tools (i.e. CVS, Clearcase), Network Appliance systems, Veritas products.
Responsibilities will include:
• Provide support and maintenance for the International IT “owned” Infrastructure.
• Hardware and software upgrades and preventative maintenance.
• System performance monitoring and reporting.
• Database monitoring
• Website Administration
• Gather, understand and represent business user requirements.
• Participate in selected global IT projects.
• Maintain a robust, reliable infrastructure.
• Develop local IT infrastructure in line with Mentor Graphics standards, and to research more efficient ways of
running IT and Mentor R et D facilities.
Requirements:
• Computer Science/IT Degree/experience, and 5+ years experience in system administration. Experience working in an
international technical organization
• Well developed communication skills, fluent English
Technical Skills:
• Comfortable with most aspects of Windows et UNIX: (Solaris, Linux and HP) - system administration, installation and
configuration, fundamentals of security, installing third-party software.
• Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts.
• Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (Tk, Perl, a shell)
Other desirable skills include: FlexLM license application/installation/maintenance, experience of NetApps file
servers, experience of Clustering concepts, Web technologies (HTML, apache), Clearcase/Clearquest.
